Since 1984, SWAGLY has provided a SAFE SPACE for all GLBTQ or Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning Youth and their Straight Allies 22 and under to socialize, learn and share. Our weekly meetings consist of social time, introductions, community announcements and a structured conversation about issues facing GLBTQ Youth today. These include coming out, coping with stress, working with relationships, and various discussions about drug abuse and safer sex. The H.E.A.R.R.T. Peer Leaders are a youth advisory team made up of Youth Members who have proven themselves as LEADERS. They meet at the beginning of every month before the general SWAGLY meetings and are responsible for planning events such as speakers, outreach, training, and weekly topics. Each meeting is facilitated by a H.E.A.R.R.T. Peer Leader Member, with the rest of the team working together as Co-Facilitators. Come check SWAGLY out at our next weekly meeting!
